Tri City Cools Down at Skate Night
By Tedd Mostert

On Friday, December 11th, 2009, Tri City Prep bundled up and chilled out at the Tim’s Toyota Center to introduce some fun into their otherwise busy schedules.  It was a great success, for there were around 80-100 skaters on the ice at any given time during the session.  Starting at 7 pm, skaters shredded the ice; some showing their bravado through great tricks, others taking it nice and easy while they spent some quality time with friends.  No matter how the time on the ice was spent, everyone had a great time.  Seeing all those of smiling faces after three hours of pure enjoyment indicated just how great this idea was. Winter Formal a Hit
By Liz Earl

On Friday, January 8th, about a hundred TCP students of all four ages stepped out to the annual winter dance.
“It’s great,” said Shelby McCaslin, a junior. “I really like the playlist.”
Hosted at Stoneridge Golf Club, the winter formal this year was highly attended. Everyone looked wonderful- a wide array of dress colors and corsages were matched with suits and boutonnieres. This year was similar to previous ones in a lot of ways- there were refreshments and drinks, tables to sit at, and lots of dancing and good music. [more]

NHS Students Tours University of Arizona

By Liz Earl

On January 28th, ten students from TCP’s chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) traveled four hours to Tucson to tour the University of Arizona campus in hopes of finding a college that they might attend in a year or two.
“It was fun,” said Jeremy DeRois, a junior. “I was seriously interested before, but even more so now. My view improved of dorm living and university life.”
Traveling down on Thursday afternoon, the group arrived at roughly 7:30 PM in Tucson, and began their tour at 10 AM on Friday. After meeting up with Natalie Harshman and KC Libman, two alumni, the group went out to lunch at restaurants on campus and set off again for Prescott.[more]

Spirit Week Results in Mixed Reviews

By Sarah Cramer
The week of December 7th through December 10 was Spirit Week at TCP. Overall, the turnout seemed good, and people seemed to be enjoying themselves despite the cold weather.
Monday was Pajama Day. “It was embarrassing but still really fun to wear a bathrobe to school and have my hair really messy,” said Anna Flurry. She says Pajama Day was her favorite. Many students participated in Pajama Day. Mercedes Kline said it was “hilariously funny seeing all the different types of pajamas.”
Tuesday was Tropics in the Winter Day, where there were a multitude of different colored leis and flowers. Wednesday, Sports Day, had many football jerseys, face paint, and even a panther walking about.  Thursday was School Spirit day, including a fun-filled pep assembly organized by Student Council.
“It (Spirit Week) was a great way to raise school spirit and a lot of people got involved,” David Baker said. Ben Nye said it was a good thing because a lot of people got to do it. “It was a chance for us to be creative- Student Council did a great job planning it!” said Blair Willette. “The school was full of spirit,” added Ashley Nache.[more]
